RELIGION AND SCIENCE (영어강의) [RELIGION AND SCIENCE]
This course explores the complex relationship that exists between religion and science. First, it attempts to define religion and science while comparing the methods for acquiring knowledge in these fields. Second, it surveys the history of the relationship between these two major aspects of culture, showing how religion has both supported science and hindered it. There will be a focus on Christianity’s relationship to both the natural sciences and the social sciences. Third, it studies four models that describe the relationship between religion and science. Finally, as a test case, specific attention will be paid to the creation versus evolution debate. By the end of the course, students should be able to see the compatibility of faith and science.
